Hey everyone quick question that I am unable to find a definitive answer to...

I recently completed my ASEL Private add-on coming from rotorcraft and my instructor and I were a bit shocked after the checkride due to the tasks which the DPE evaluated me on. In the ACS, we had prepared for the required tasks in the Add-on table but I ended up being grilled on most of the ground tasks anyway....

Is the examiner within the right to go over ANY task and can it result in an unsatisfactory performance even if its not a required task?



(From here on out I will know all tasks prior to checkride as I think only knowing the minimums will end up hurting yourself in the long run. However, I also thought the the point of an add-on rating was to only evaluate the new tasks rather than take the complete checkride again for the certificate/rating you already hold..)
