I dunno. I think it depends on how sharp the guy is. For some yes I totally agree. Others are way ahead of their time.

On the one hand extra time with a CFII would be the best, but its costly. And lets be real, some instrctors arent worth the ink on the certificate.

Besides, IMHO the student should be learning most of this crap on their own. The instructor is to guide and answer questions. Should not be a hose of information from the II to the student.

So for you time builders out there here is my advice: study your butts off. No excuses. Your instructor should not be dragging you through this. Learn snd study on your own. Be a professional. Each flight have a goal to improve yourself. Hold it within 100' at all times, 10* at all times, 10 knts. DO IT!
