Richard Anderson was not a fan of the 700 given its CASM (fewer seats to spread the costs). The CS100 can do everything the 700 can do (plus more in terms of short field performance) at a lower CASM given the geared turbofan engines. Lower CASM means lower route operational breakeven point. And the CS300 has an even better CASM with more seats. On top of that, the CS100 is more comfortable for pax than any 737 in Delta's fleet with 2x3 seating, big bins and better windows. The CS100/300 will become a favorite airplane among premium-paying business travelers.

Don't believe me? Just check this out:

No airplane is perfect. At least SWISS and Air Baltic (and Korean with its first CS300 arriving soon) will help to work-out any initial teething problems before Delta's first delivery.
