Was scheduled for a 4 legger the other day. Completed turn one and we were told the second turn was upgraded to a bus and were reassigned to a new city pairing that returned within minutes of the original pairing release time.

The new aircraft was on maintenance and kept with the rolling delays to the point we wouldn't be legal to make the second leg (had a 4:59AM report so we were in the 10 hour FDP range.) Captain had already been extended that week and couldn't extend and I refused.

It was my impression that any change (basically any new flight number or city pairing) would result in an extra 5 hours. Payroll says no dice since we never actually flew the extra legs.

FSM Section G.22 says "actual/scheduled block of additional legs or 5:00, whichever is GREATER."

To me, 5:00 is greater than 0.

Am I wrong?
