Just curious for a commuter if there are any benefits to TDY. Commute would be about the same length, do you get paid for PS flights to and from home?, or any added pay benefit? My recollection is your commute is positive space. I don't recall at all the company paying you for your commute. But, I do think you are on perdiem for 100 percent of the time you are on the "clock." So once you get in your temporary base you are on the clock. If it works for you, then it's gotta be a positive overall. Some pilots do it for a temporary change of scenery and to get acquainted with a new base of considering moving there. Nice to be able to look at neighborhoods and schools on the company's time/dime.
