As a present ANG pilot, I'd like to caution you regarding a unit to fly for. BRAC of 2005 has placed the ANG in a tailspin. Many units (particularly fighter units) do not have a clear future right now. A lot of the pointy nose airplanes are being sold to foreign countries with transport or even UAV follow ons becoming their next mission. Some units will even be closing up their doors.

I'm not trying to scare you into not applying just make sure you research the unit that you are trying to get into.
