If the bonus gets integrated at 83 hours then that's $23 an hour on top, but if you only make min guarantee your pay goes down to $74,783. Percentage wise it's not huge for a captain but that is a $2200 pay cut. That is a lot of money to make up in soft pay. Even if you end up with an extra $1000 a year in healthcare benefits, an extra 0.5% on your 401k, it's not worth it.
I will vote no to anything that results in a cent less pay for anyone on property. There is lots of open time right now but there is no guarantee that will be around forever and an 83 hour base screws over everyone who is a new hire, bids a more senior base (MSP), or upgrades and goes back on reserve. Unless of course they raise min guarantee to 83 hours.
