That works for them because it's a blended payscale, not about fleet size. Whether they fly the -9, -7, or -2, they get paid the same. And the rate goes up as more large aircraft come in (as it should). Since Endeavor has separate payscales for the -9 and the -2, that's not necessary here.
Tying payscales to fleet size is a bad idea, as it gives management an incentive to shrink the fleet size (and thus reduce payrates) down the road if a less senior, cheaper regional came along at some point down the road. Give some planes to them and their pilots who would cost less simply due to lack of longevity, and while they're at it make us cheaper as well.
