"Quoted" by whom exactly? Care to provide some specifics? And for the record, AAL management did a study about 20 years ago on airline labor contracts (not just pilots). They found that approximately 97% of TAs pass on the second vote, regardless of the changes from a TA1 to a TA2, no matter of its better, worse or indifferent.
This is why it is important that the people negotiating your next contract have a pulse on what the membership wants. The Spirit pilots keep talking about "industry standard". If that's what you're expecting then you're in for a big surprise. If it's just the compensation then you might come close, but you're not going to have a DL, UA type of contract; that's unrealistic. Southwest didn't match the big three so why on earth do you think Spirit will?
Your MEC and NC should know when they have the best deal and they shouldn't put it out for a vote unless they think it will pass. Anything else will just lead to another year of waiting and frustration before the NMB even comes remotely close to releasing you.
