At the risk of oversimplifying this whole thing, would something like this not be a cheap and easy way to determine if this is a fume event or not? The speaker kept mention carbon monoxide a standard byproduct of these events, along with all the other stuff.

What I took away was that CO is something we KNOW we are exposed to, but don't have sensors to detect it. (Proof of FAA/airline negligence)
The vaporized engine oil may not be accompanied by CO. I would love to have my blood screened for this crap, but then I'd have to tell the FAA if it came back positive. Then what?
