A few posts back touched on this, but it's more than the fact it's a minimal cost give. It's the fact that it would represent a perk, just for pilots, that is highly visible to other employee groups. In fact, it's a perk that would be flagrantly waved in the faces of the cabin crew aboard the DH flights.
Now......what's the first thing these folks are going to start thinking about when they see what the only organized labor on the property got as a perk?
I completely agree with the sentiment that we should improve our language in this area. I'm just saying that I think this is the mindset you are working against from the other side. It's not simply the incremental financial cost.
