Perspective - OTS Rates today vs. in 6 years
Just for perspective. Today, AA is hiring a majority that flow from their WOs. The rest, the OTS, are mostly military.
In 6+/- years, the time it would take to flow, the AA manditory retirements will more than double. The other majors have similar numbers.
Where will they get those double the additional pilots? Military? Doubt it. WOs? They may boost their rate of flow, but don't count on it being very much, if at all.
The rest of that doubling of pilot demand will have to be non-military OTS. That means the rest of the regionals, the LCCs, etc. Small percentages will become over 50%.
Why would you want to take a pay cut when it is almost certain outside of flow you can get hired in that period of time?
