Mom's calling you, your pb&j is ready.
Ecam I'm not picking sides here, but for anyone interested, the actual numbers are better. I'm 3rd year legacy and make more than you stated with the DC and PS. I'm also about one year (400 #s), away from in base nb captain or right seat on the 777. It really is a good time to be here. With the retirements coming it will be 10 years before the seniority spaceship runs out of rocket fuel.
I think there is validity in the thought that legacies may become more prone to filch folks from LCCs versus their own regional feed.

I think there have been a lot of good points and opinions here. The only thing I can add is this: I think a move to a regional would look strange and likely suspicious on a resume. If the flow works out as advertised, great. But if it doesn't, and you are applying to the legacies out side of a flow, I think you made your resume look really odd. I wouldn't do it

Good point. It will look like he may have left the LCC under "suspicious circumstances."

Some very valid points have been raised. Thanks for the opinions, looks like I will keep on chugging along at my current carrier and hopefully my luck will change.

(Don't even bother me with the 2 year upgrades at DAL, that's a temporary anomaly due to base and equipment). Or spend the last 20 years making $200K and a great QOL at an LCC. Seems like a no brainier to me, you're putting almost a million dollars on the table.
Your numbers are way off dude.

A LCC is a career, a legacy is a better career, a regional is a job. Never leave a career for a job. It looks bad on your resume and your bank account. I'd also bet the weakest LCC has a better chance of being around in 20 years than the best regional.

Then there's the FACT that the regional airlines houses are all burning down. The regional jet game is over. No stability, no long term outlook. Making a downward move into that environment would be career suicide.
You're not likely to see 250k at a LCC in 4 years, assuming an upgrade. 250k as a 4th year legacy FO is doable however, if you have no life and watch premium pay like a hawk.
