SWA is not ALPA and their contract is arguably the best out of all the passenger carriers.
I hope SWAPA forever leads the way from here on out..... but 20 years ago, SWAPA's contract was the noose around many ALPA Industry negotiations. No retirement, no retirement medical, wide open work rules up to the FAR's, no scope. Well 20 years later, drug through BK's and consolidations, ALPA (and APA) carrier pilots have had to learn to adapt (and lower their expectations).
