It all bull####. The company was never going to just give up Min Calendar Day without a fight. LOS is an actual fight they company has zero justification to deny. I think a few in the union knew that and tried to move on it. Just because it only affects a few, it doesn't mean it should not be pushed. Reserve only affect a few, but we still want it better. A union is one for all and all for one. On LOS, a few in APA are trying to actually live by that philosophy, maybe right some wrongs previous APA leadership did to their fellow pilots. If we only go for what helps the many, screw RO fixes too, since it only affects a few on a daily basis.

MIN CALENDAR actually changes many things on their side. Schedules, pay, credit, bidding/training, staffing, etc. The company knows that, and now is exploiting the LOS movement to deny any talk of MCD.

If folks really believe they were about to fold on it and just give it away, well...that's insane. Some BOD folks, forum warriors, and flight deck know-it-all's have got it in people's heads that Min Calendar Day was just a day away.

Min Calendar is the single biggest QOL improvement in our contract. It changes redeye schedules, SA MIA flying, all Hawaii flying, and a lot of international flying, tons of items that will cost the company every day at every level of pilot ops.

Go back to the JCBA negotiations. APA (past leaders) was CLUELESS about MCD. They were so uneducated about it, cause it wasn't their wAAY, that it wasn't in the MTA OR the JCAB. Not, until a grass roots effort started and sound offs were sent, did suddenly L-APA know or think about it. The ignorance at the time was laughable.

Then suddenly it was the highest priority, AFTER...AFTER the BOD had already pushed the negotiating committee (which was MCD clueless as well) to "ask" the company to add it to the JCBA.

APA, if anyone recalls, submitted a cost analysis to the company to add MCD to the JCBA, but dorked it up. Their numbers were off, and at that point Scott Kirby got ****ed and said he could not trust the union and the deal was the deal. APA has tripped over ever banana they can find. It would have cost the company 88 million, that's it, if it were in the JCBA, but the union presented as 40 million.

Regardless it's penny's in our current earning, but now it will cost them more since it is not baked in. The company knows MCD is big deal and are not going to give it to us without a fight. All LOS did was make it easier for them to move away from it for now.

LOS is important and needs to be rectified. If all of would get behind a SMALL issue, what message does that send to the company. Instead they know pilots, and know this will devide us. It's a mind game they are winning cause the BIG issue is MCD. They are winning cause we can't even unify on a "small" issue. It's pathetic how easy it is for them
