My uncle Bill got hosed out of his retirement in the UAL debacle.
So... at the age of 61 he entered the corporate flying world.
He had flown Kingaires briefly in the seventies, and had some friends from the EAA, so before long he was free-lancing in the BHM area. One thing led to another, and he is now a full-time captain on a Citationjet and a Kingair 200. He works about 4 days a week, is home just about every night, and is making pretty good money.
Here's the important part: he's happier than I've ever seen him. He truly loves flying again, and absolutely digs the planes and the people he works with. Sometimes I ask him, "So, you miss jumpseating up to ORD to go fly big jets?" just so I can hear the stream of obscenities that always follow....
