Lastly, I’m flying with a guy who knows the retired Delta pilot who is turning around the Auburn flight program. According to him, as soon as this weekend we may here of some kind of bridge program with them. This falls in line with info from other higher–ups I spoke with last month. Other major college programs are soon to be approached by Delta, too.
This has been in the works for a long time, however, the FAA still needs to approve it. Basically, Delta will recruit its pilots directly from college, pay their way with a service commitment to Endeavor, then flow to Delta. The problem with this, is that Envoy is still a much better career choice.
