That makes sense. The 757 is too narrow to compete with the 321 for passenger comfort. The 767NG is a wider cross section and a higher ratio of aisle to middle seats. Better passenger comfort and more options for premium seat pricing would make it attractive. You could also turn a twin aisle faster. Have you every timed how long it takes to empty out a 757-300?
I seem to recall when NW ordered the 300, there was talk about Boeing helping with cost of dual jetway access. Maybe I just dreamed that. Anything behind economy comfort is a claustrophobic experience for pax
