Whoa. Looking at these last couple of posts, and...well, I'm hereby outing myself as a silent green needler. I honestly didn't know it was looked at like this, and in retrospect should have recognized it as a pretty prime example of the "everybody is on the same page about what modes the airplane is in" principle. It slowly (and wrongfully) migrated into the "this is obviously what happens next, and is beyond stating" bin for me. Learning has occurred, and I'll stop it starting tomorrow.

I'd hope to be straightened out on something like this in the cockpit, despite what pro stans says. Maybe the way you did it leaves something to be desired, maybe the FO in question needs to learn how to take constructive criticism.
