Wanna be careful picking up work that exceeds the FAR limits. That’s on you if you go over and get caught. You shouldn’t have picked it up, technically.
That being said, the company should never have allowed you to pick it up.
May not have been over when he picked it up.
Maybe other trips were extended pushing him into it.
