Not sure of the specifics, but I'd highly suggest doing it like that. I did them separate and spent a lot more money doing it that way. All of the commercial stuff you'll see on the CFI ride. Getting it all done at one time is smart.
That's what I was thinking. From what I can tell, the student does the training from the right seat. The DPE/examiner sits in the left on both rides. The commercial checkride is a day or two before the CFI one. Seems like a good plan if it works.
