Compared to no new hire classes until Feb and also no furlough return classes, that update was accurate, only off by 1 new hire class in Nov. Some people are always looking at the negative, and if they way we are going to hire 1200 and only hire 1199 will complain, ad nauseum. Amazing that we are hiring pilots, have big vacancy bids, and people still find stuff to complain about.
"accurate" = 3 classes of 50 is 150 and we will end up with 60-70 total.
Some people on here will swear the company said they were aiming for an 1800 pilot list when in reality it was a mid level manager with zero idea of what was actually going on. I get that we have people who don't yet understand managements nonsense but every other word from them for the rest of your career will be a lie. Repeating that nonsense isn't going to somehow make it come true. These are the good times but during the bad times this rumor mill loving BS train can really do damage to your fellow pilots.
