Thanks for the info. This is pretty much the way I was leaning towards. I'm waiting on an email back from my contact at the local FSDO to see what the people who really matter think about it but I'm pretty sure I already know the answer they are going to give.
The FAA doesn't care. You can log time any way you like, paper or otherwise. But you do need paper for instructional records and endorsements while earning ratings.
