The cadet program will always help as long as you apply for it before reaching ATP mins. There is no downside to being a cadet as there is zero obligation but it starts the clock on company benefits and will bump your ground school seniority significantly. In short, if you meet the requirements for cadet and don’t yet have ATP mins, it’s in your best interest to sign up.
