Sim time generally does not count. There are two types of recency...

Hard recency minimums: If you don't have X hours within Y months, you're not eligible. They usually don't specify what type of hours, other than in an aircraft. They might specify airplane vice RW.

Soft mins: This is more subjective, and will be considered with an eye towards "trainability". Sim time generally does not count but if your airplane recency was all in a cessna, then some jet sim time might mitigate that.

Generally, preferred recency for majors is professional turbine time, then professional piston time, lastly would be GA CFI or recreational flying.

I don't think "other" counts but not sure. It might be a mitigating factor.
