Any sort of legal entanglements can be a problem for majors.

About the only thing they would understand is getting sued for a car accident. Any other legal entanglements would raise doubts about your character and temperament.

I would even avoid filling any sort of legal action if you aspire to majors. If you have to, fine, but don't do it lightly. Nobody wants litiginious employees, I wouldn't if I was hiring people.

From personal experience, better to move than deal with neighbors like that. Others are telling you to engage aggressively, but you're probably the only party involved who stands to lose out if public records are generated.
