Sorry you stumbled into a hornets nest of ****ed off, disgruntled, and mostly NON Skywest pilots who think they're going to change the company by posting useless garbage and rants about how bad they think Skywest is. Sitting around *****ing and complaining about everything under the sun without offering anything other than criticism.
Skywest isn't perfect by any means, but it's still not a bad place to be, especially if you're starting out or moving into 121 ops. Flying wise, Skywest has an excellent record and the mainliners like it. You'll fly your a** off after a few short months on reserve and probably get the base you prefer. As far as airplanes to choose from, choose the one that gets you closer or exactly what you want. CRJ bases are shifting a little eastward and the ERJ bases are mainly west. CRJ will probably get you a faster upgrade if you're willing to move Midwest or east. As far as turbine time goes, both are equal in the logbook.
We have great people here. Most everyone is willing to help. You'll do fine.
