I agree that it is possible to flow without a degree, but why not knock out some online program quickly and be competitive for other majors, or be hired outside the flow at AA. At the very least you have more options or potentially a better seniority number, and at the worst, you have a backup plan when your seniority number isn't high enough someday.
I agree about getting your degree. It opens up the opportunity to get hired at other than AA and is a stepping stone towards towards a medically required back up plan. But you said the odds were very poor to get hired at AA without a degree when there’s a path, available to everyone, that doesn’t require a degree.
