Thanks for the responses. The reason I don't apply to EDV/Republic/Envoy is because I can't at the moment. Long story short, I went to school overseas and I'm told to take the HISET or GED to qualify (even though I have a college degree). It wasn't something I anticipated until sending airline applications... I'll do it, but it may require a few months of studying. In the meantime, I want to be flying. CommutAir and GoJet are happy to hire me as is.
And yes, the slightly longer jets are the reason why I'm asking. A friend currently flies for GoJet and told me I would be crazy to go for a E145 over the CRJ700/900.
I see, I understand. As far as your friend, thousands of pilots have flown the E145 for almost 20 years. It’s a good Regional jet. It does the same things as the CRJ7 does, they have the same automation. You’d be crazy to commute for the CRJ7 rather than be based at home, at least if you do, don’t tell people that.
