Someone mentioned excess positions earlier. I thought we no longer had excess positions. Now, if they really don’t want to up the numbers for a given seat they set the min and max at what it is already staffed at.....like MD-11 captain in this bed.

Now let’s say that 10 people bid the MD-11 captain position. And let’s say that they are Senior to the 10 most junior MD-11 captains on the current list. They would be awarded MD-11 captain and the 10 junior folks on the list would go somewhere else. Hence the term bump and flush....

That’s the way I understood it anyway....if I’m wrong will someone please correct me!
