No for the majors, only fighter pilots would even be considered with less than 2000 for most majors. For the majors you'll need typically 4000-6000 hours, with some jet PIC preferred. A few exceptions happen, so you should apply as soon as you can and keep your applications updated.

The big metropolitan areas typically have crew bases for multiple airlines, as well as multiple universities. NYC, Washington DC, Miami, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angles, San Francisco.

No. It will be almost automatic to get a job at any regional if you have a clean background.

Majors are a bit harder, but your expat status will not affect your employ-ability in the US.
