Reading about the classes at the majors, seems like the top age in most classes is age 50+. Some as much as 58-60. So, there should be plenty of time.

In another couple of years, mid-40s and you get hired on by one of the majors, you likely will be able to spend several years in the left seat. For the big 3 legacy, half of all the pilots will retire in 10 years.

Most classes go on age for base selection, so you likely can get your choice, assuming it is on the list for your class.
