The surcharges and Legacy plan really drive the higher than normal costs of our healthcare options.

Nobody should be on the legacy plan. The employee plays a much higher percentage vs the other plans. These numbers are monthly for ee+sp+1ch.

Legacy plan - 747.38 - 34% paid by ee (for an ee only plan the % paid by pilot increases to 60%)
Traditional PPO - 455 - 24% paid by ee
HDHP - 311.62 - 17% paid by ee (company also contributes 150/mo to HSA)

Working spouse surcharge - 261.25
Addl child surcharge(first child incld in premium) - 78.38

The HDHP is the best plan if you can handle the potential exposure of a large out of pocket expense.

FYI...these are 2017 numbers so they are probably a few $ higher for 2018
