Pretty sure a signing bonus is just that. A bonus...theoretically could be given to any employee.
But given where we are in negotiations, I think the company is avoiding it simply because it would again make their bargaining tactics look worse in the eyes of the NMB.
Give large sums to attract new pilots, but don't want to pay pilots on property a slightly BELOW industry average wage?

Not saying you're wrong, but the idea that the company is doing ANYTHING to look less-worse in front of the NMB is humorous. Seems to me the company has been laying back, with their feet kicked up, laughing pretty good at the NMB.

Everything this company does with regard to contract negotiations is calculated. They want you to think they’re not paying attention and they don’t care. They will be very surprised if we get released (and so will I). I hope we do but I have little faith in the NMB.
