Normally you'd take your written on Monday after week 0.
If your week 0 and 1 are back to back, you will take your written after week 1. Week 1 does have an exam at the end, but it isn't exactly rocket surgery.

Yeah what he said basically. A lot of us continued studying for the Sheppard Air test during ATP/CTP, as it's mostly crash videos and retired mainline guys telling stories from their career. You have all the way up until your checkride to take the written but there's no excuse not to do it right after the ATP course. Once you are regularly scoring 90+ on the practice exam you're good. Re: the ATP/CTP sims, if you are new to jets you'll get a ton out of the sim sessions, at least I did. Have fun and relax.
