If you want to help yourself out in training, make sure you show up with the fundamentals.....how to read an approach chart, how to enter a holding pattern, continuing below minimums, etc. they’ll teach you what you need to know about flying a 145, CArJ, or 175 the way they do it, but don’t have time to teach you proper holding pattern entry or how to read a Jepp Chart,

Just finished training and my throughts were...”huh? Thats it?” I was a piston driver who hasn’t flown any actual IFR in 2 years, although i had plenty of glass experience.
Once you get through the door on day one, you will realize that no one else has any ****ing clue what they’re doing either. Once you finish indoc, you’ll have an idea on how to proceed.
Once you get your materials, read AOM2 cover to cover and the AOM1 General section 20 times. The systems classes are hit or miss. I found self studying that stuff was more helpful.
A couple people in my class had to take the written...study sheppard during week one and take the test that weekend if you can. After that it would become a huge headache.
