New hires should be aware of what you are signing up for. The new rates are better but New York is expensive. You will be on Reserve for quite some time and you will be abused. I came thinking the grasss greener idea but am learning quickly that it’s not what at all what I expected or signed up for. There is still no flow and the DGI is ambiguous at best. Delta pass riding is terrible and we are still not sure about priority. Without some incentives, including life style issues, it may not be worth the time here. Envoy is now hiring DECs AND THEY HAVE A PROPER FLOW! If I was an XJT guy/gal, I would not stay here waiting, wondering and sitting on airport Reserve for no reason.

In what way are reserves being abused here? Honestly curious. I’m on my 6th month of reserve and while I’d much rather hold a line I don’t feel abused in any way. New York isn’t cheap but our pay rates are far above other regionals and you can make good money picking up opentime trips on days off. If you are unmotivated or have a poor resume Envoy or PSA might be good fits for you. Despite QOL issues that need to be addressed (like fire breaks) I prefer working here over Envoy with their 73 hour 11 day off lines and forced upgrades.
