Here is the gist of the email written in May:
This has been corrected and GT should not be cancelled. Additionally the company is working on software that will hopefully be ready in September that will allow pilots who deviate to specify which leg they are deviating on.
I realize that our billion $ company can not figure out how to fix the single leg cancelation problem but they should be able to let you keep the ground transportation.
I talked with several in scheduling and finally got thru to a coherent scheduler that told me this-
When you deviate it shows a line stating ground transpo canceled. This means the transpo is still scheduled and is a flag to the scheduler to check and see if all crewmembers have deviated or if there is still one or more who are not deviating. They will check this daily until the trips starts.
If all crewmembers deviate, the scheduler will indeed cancel the grnd transpo and the block for the transpo name and phone will completely disappear. This is from less than 30 days ago.
