If you did purchase the same dart board for more money at Dart's 'R Us, the only thing it would do would be enriching the owners of that business.

Wal-Mart continually puts pressures on its own suppliers to drive down costs as well. They use their clout to buy in bulk. They have an efficient supply system. There are a lot of ways they reduce their costs in comparison to the competition other than just lower wages - which in the big scheme of things really aren't lower when compared to the other grocery chains.
