Somebody has to straighten up both groups of investors IMHO!
Maybe someone need's a little booyaaaa, try reading Crammers book, he explains it in very easy terms to understand. You can't compare just the actual price of a stock to another, there are many, many, many, other factors to look at in determining if a stock is valued correctly.

For example, if you were looking to buy a dart board, Wal-Mart's price was $37.62, Target's was $40.99 and Dart's R' Us was $49.99, where would you buy it? Wal-Mart or Target, and you're not fooling anyone here if you say Dart's R' Us.

Same goes for airline tickets. The "uninformed" public is very informed, if they were uninformed they'd still be buying tickets for Aloha and Hawaiian for $300 RT instead of $80.

And, the el-cheepo walmart dartboard made in china that is killing the trade deficit and american jobs will fall apart in a month or so- then you have to go get another one.

Where do you buy your stuff? Are your pilot shirts made in America? Your pants? Your underwear? Your shoes? Your pubs bag? Are you flying an airplane made in the United States? (If not, tell your union that the company should only buy American). How about your car? Are all the parts in the car made in the US?
If you can't answer yes to the above, then shut your pie whole. If you can answer yes, then you are walking the walk and talking the talk.
Don't get me wrong. I hate Orinstein as much as the next guy. If it is made better, I buy American. I buy good quality shirts, shoes and pants. Many of my clothes come from LL Bean. I purchased one cheap pubs bag; after the bottom came apart and my pubs blew accross the ramp, I went out a purchased a good one. I will not fly NWA (even though my brother works there), because they suck. Even if the price is cheaper. But when it comes to underwear and t-shirts, I go to Walmart.
I am proud to say I recently bought a Scott Leather Flight Case MADE IN THE GOOD OL' USA!!! Oh, and if you buy from Gap... well, your stuff was made by little kids in India. ::Pie-hole open::

Hot off the press:

http://www.thestreet.com/newsanalysi.../10387758.html

"Despite a judge's ruling that it must pay a competitor $80 million, Mesa Air (MESA - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr - Rating) CEO Jonathan Ornstein says his subsidiary go! will keep flying between the Hawaiian islands.

Why? Because, he says, "It's a shame to let the bad guys win."

Earlier this week, Honolulu Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert Faris said Mesa must compensate Hawaiian Airlines (HA - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr - Rating) because it misused confidential information it obtained as a potential acquirer of Hawaiian in 2004. The amount Mesa must pay covers damages from when go! began operating in June 2006 through October this year.

The barriers to go!'s continued operation are significant, because it is conceivable that Mesa could incur additional damages. Additionally, Mesa is dedicating five airplanes to a money-losing venture in Hawaii at a time when it faces severe pilot attrition, as its pilots -- like those at other regional airlines -- are rapidly being hired away by higher paying carriers.

The court did not award damages for any loss Hawaiian may sustain going forward, nor did it agree to bar go! from selling tickets for one year. However, "The judge left open the possibility to pursue damages going forward," said Hawaiian CEO Mark Dunkerley, in an interview.

Ornstein says it is important to stay in Hawaii because, "if we were to leave, the fares would go right back to where they were the day we got there -- a hundred dollars-plus for a 20-minute flight." Current fares are around $39. "In the long run, we will carve out a niche there, operate profitably, and serve the people of Hawaii," he says."

Funny, I thought the bad guys just lost, are about to lose again in an anti-trust suit from Aloha, and will continue lose if Go keeps operating? ALOHA: A Loss Of His Assets

I'm not very in-tune with law proceedings, but I had one question: Is there anything stopping JO and MAG from appealing the decision and dragging the process out, or is this a done deal?

Hi!

They can ALWAYS appeal, and drag it out, at least as far as the Supreme Court. The Exxon Valdez disaster is STILL in litigation, with Exxon trying not to pay a lot of money they were supposed to.

However, Mesa lost. So, if they keep fighting, and keep losing, then they´ll owe EVEN MORE legal fees. If they keep flying, they Hawaiin can file to get MORE money because the damages keep on coming.

If Mesa doesn´t stop, and don´t win, then they´ll be in an EVEN BIGGER world of hurt!

CamY listen to yourself. We like the "general uninformed public," but we don't want to give them something for nothing! Pilots don't care about competition we want monopoly and more $.

Seriously, when it comes to the public we need only care about customer service.

Looks like Mesa and JO are SOL for a retrial. Serves them right.

$90 million... that could have gone to their reduced rest standup overnight 8 days off a month pilots.
