Hopefully now they are now informed that Mesa is a criminally managed company. Not exactly the kind of airline that I would want my money to go! to.

I love Wal-Mart because they've substantially dropped the price of pretty much everything I buy. I also love internet stores for buying things such as car parts and electronics.

Do I care about how the people who work there are treated? No, not really, as long as the Company is able to provide adequate customer service and fill my order correctly.

For example, if you were looking to buy a dart board, Wal-Mart's price was $37.62, Target's was $40.99 and Dart's R' Us was $49.99, where would you buy it? Wal-Mart or Target, and you're not fooling anyone here if you say Dart's R' Us.

Same goes for airline tickets. The "uninformed" public is very informed, if they were uninformed they'd still be buying tickets for Aloha and Hawaiian for $300 RT instead of $80.

Indirectly you will pay more for the dartboard than the Walmart price as those who work there might need assistance in health insurance or child support or welfare from the government because their Walmart paychecks do not cover it all. Then your tax dollars you saved by getting the cheap darts go to them, and you've still got the cheapest type of dartboard.

If you did purchase the same dart board for more money at Dart's 'R Us, the only thing it would do would be enriching the owners of that business.

Wal-Mart continually puts pressures on its own suppliers to drive down costs as well. They use their clout to buy in bulk. They have an efficient supply system. There are a lot of ways they reduce their costs in comparison to the competition other than just lower wages - which in the big scheme of things really aren't lower when compared to the other grocery chains.

Based on Mesa's wages, I doubt the "tax rate" they pay in, would cause those pilots to be paying the bills..... more like those flying for X-jet, ASA, AWAC will be paying the health bills!!!!

Oh, you're gonna make a great airline pilot. What you're saying is that you'd purchase the $19 tickets that GO! sells in Hawaii and then gladly watch the pilots there go on unemployment. So what would do if it was you? Wait, let me guess, you wouldn't put your self in that situation. Well the news is that it can happen to anyone.

What you save now may come at your expense later or someone elses. Consumerism is a nasty addiction.

I've got a few questions for you and any of the other pilots bashing WalMart and low airline tickets.
Where do you buy your stuff? Are your pilot shirts made in America? Your pants? Your underwear? Your shoes? Your pubs bag? Are you flying an airplane made in the United States? (If not, tell your union that the company should only buy American). How about your car? Are all the parts in the car made in the US?
If you can't answer yes to the above, then shut your pie whole. If you can answer yes, then you are walking the walk and talking the talk.
Don't get me wrong. I hate Orinstein as much as the next guy. If it is made better, I buy American. I buy good quality shirts, shoes and pants. Many of my clothes come from LL Bean. I purchased one cheap pubs bag; after the bottom came apart and my pubs blew accross the ramp, I went out a purchased a good one. I will not fly NWA (even though my brother works there), because they suck. Even if the price is cheaper. But when it comes to underwear and t-shirts, I go to Walmart.

Well, I don't think so. And I think you mean "hole" and not "whole".

People have the right to express themselves at this site without any one user telling them not to. You might want to expand your argument beyond "shut your pie whole". That could lead to meaningful dialogue, the "whole" reason this site exists....

I wouldn't "glady" watch pilots go to unemployment, but you bet your ass I'd buy the $19 over the $119 one. Why? Because it's the same product. No sense in paying 6x as much for the same thing.

This isn't consumerism, it's capitalism.
