Moving residence - how to schedule time off?
I'm on the outside looking in, and wondering how PSA in particular (or regionals in general) facilitate time off for a change in residence.
I could theoretically move to my desired base ahead of time, but that would be a bit presumptuous IMO. So say for the sake of argument I delay the move until I know I'm on property (i.e. I complete training including IOE). My plan would be to do my reserve time in the base closest to my current residence and then move several states away to be close to another base at which I know I can hold a line or at least LCR.
I don't have a lot of stuff or a family in tow but I know it will probably take me at least a couple weeks to find a new place, pack, move, and get settled. How exactly does one handle this with scheduling? I don't care if I'm not paid during this time.
