On a separate but related note, how long are new hire seat locks? I assume changing domiciles in same aircraft is a non-issue.

Thanks....treading water and hopefully out of the pool soon.
This bid opens today and closes on May 7th.

I would guess the results will be posted on the 9th or 10th. The bids are "effective" for the October bid month, which means that is the approximate time they are looking at, but really just drives contractual protections for those that get a bid. But it would also mean that any "unfilled" vacancies on this bid would be available to New Hires/Furlough Recalls for the 90 days after the bid is published (so basically for any class through about Aug 7-8) Maybe we can get other New Hire classes this summer beyond the June class???

Seat Locks are generally 2 years, but only for full transition courses (which new hire would definitely be). However, you would not be "locked" out of bidding up pay bands during your freeze. So, if you got a 737 or A320 out of New Hire, you can bid 756 immediately. there are other seat locks that can be more restrictive when you bid down in pay bands or across pay bands, but that would only apply to bidding after your initial assignment. No matter your freeze you can always lateral to a different Base in the same fleet and seat.

Those of us on the inside hope this means an accelerated New Hire plan as well. Looking forward to having new folks to buy beer for and the growth that goes along with it.
