If you bid up a category, you can always bid up or base trade, but not back down for 24 months. i.e. bus/737 to 757 fo can bid up anytime, but can’t go back down to 737/bus for 24 months.

If you’re a new hire, and 757 is available out of indoc... you will not have the option to bid down for 24 months. If you get 737/bus however in indoc, you can bid up anytime.

New hires, once you hit the line it’s imperative you read and understand the contract. It’s long, and reads like stereo instructions, but dictates your entire life. It’s in your own self interest you take the time to read and understand it.
Not just new hires...the number of long term pilots who don’t take the time to read and understand their contract is sad. The company will try to skirt the contract if you let them.

Line pilots are the first line in upholding our contract. The PDR system and union volunteers are the backstop to preventing abuses by the company.
