If given the choice of being a 787 line holder or a junior NB Cap on reserve (or even a junior line holder) I know which one I’m taking.

Some need that fourth stripe for whatever reason. I’m more interested in being home as much as possible for as much money as possible.

Someone told me once that for just about every major airline, the junior captain always seems to hover right around 70%, which seems accurate from. You could write a PHD dissertation on human behavior trying to study and quantify the bidding habits of any any given pilot group.
