I've picked up trips that fly to the overnight and deadhead back the next day. Fly three and get paid ten is the easiest way or at senior man, that trip would block three and pay 20 hours.
On the Airbus, I encounter plenty of trips where the block is less than the pay. Not hard to do with the 5/day or the rig kicking in.
Had a 51 minute hard time two day trip this week. Hourly rate for actual work probably exceeded CEO pay.
