My take on the perks of senior pilots in a seniority based system: Senior pilots have been here longer than junior pilots, an obvious statement. Everyone hired here will have the opportunity(health permitting) to be senior and enjoy the same benefits. It’s the same at every corporation in America. Not everyone gets paid the same. In my time here I’ve watched many of those who complained about carryover lines and all the other perks become the very people they complained about once they had the seniority. It’s human nature. The system isn’t perfect but it’s what we have and everyone will get their turn. The ideas to limit everyone to a similar BLG sounds like something out of Bernie Sander’s playbook.
