Liked it way better when Pilots actually did the hiring and not some lame-ass HR department seeking only candidates who had done volunteer work at the nearest leper colony. Who cares if they can't actually fly an airplane or have the personality of bean dip, you've got the Mother Theresa seal of approval so you're in.

Real easy interview, would I want this guy/gal sitting next to me for next 2-12 hours on the flight deck of one of our aircraft? Simple yes or no and off you went.
