A reason I am not joking is that United is scoped out on 70 and 76 seat jets. The only jets they can add to their fleet is the 145 and CRJ200. Of course, a new TA at United could change everything. Contrary to your comment that someone else will fly the 145's that's not going to happen anymore. That was/is a failed experiment.
