Yeah, regionals are doing things they haven’t done before in an attempt to attract pilots such as paying for RW pilots to get FW ratings. Soon that well will mostly dry up.

A reason I am not joking is that United is scoped out on 70 and 76 seat jets. The only jets they can add to their fleet is the 145 and CRJ200. Of course, a new TA at United could change everything. The other reason I am not joking is the Secretary of Transportation recommended to Congress that hours for the right seat be reduced.

Contrary to your comment that someone else will fly the 145's that's not going to happen anymore. That was/is a failed experiment.

That's a little different than "recommending to Congress that hours for the right seat be reduced."

One by one the planes are slowly going to C5. As per their last press release "CommutAir will induct a total of sixty-one ERJ-145s aircraft through 2019." I don't know if people are in denial or they are oblivious to facts. If they can reset the longevity, why wouldn't they. CA pay at year 2 guaranteed over there. Better than our 7 year upgrade looking at it as a new hire would.

Here is her quote: Speaking at a Washington Post forum last week, Secretary Chao was asked if she would be open to seeing the minimum number of flight hours for new pilots reduced below the 1,500-hour standard set by the 2010 law. “You know, I think there needs to be a robust discussion, because obviously we hold the memories of those who are lost in our hearts, and we don’t ever want to see an accident like that again or any accident ever occur," Chao responded. "But there is this side effect, unanticipated, corollary impact of reducing the number of pilots, pilots who can very safely fly in our sky. So I think Congress needs to have this discussion, and we will abide by the wishes of Congress."
